Future Youth Minister?

We celebrated Carter Maxwell Bandy's graduation from Alpha Omega Academy this weekend. Carter plans to stay in Ukarumpa until November, at which time he will travel to Australia for the holidays. He and four friends (three Aussies and a Brit) will go walkabout . . . Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, King's Canyon, Adelaide. . . Then, in January 2007, Carter will pursue a calling in youth ministry by attending the Institute of the Nations' Discipleship Training School (DTS) at YWAM Perth, Australia. We are proud of Carter and pray God's blessing on his future!

Damon Carter

At the Vasui SALT course I was introduced as "Damon Carter." When I asked what that meant it was explained to me that, in the Vasui culture, when a man has a son he is no longer known by his own name, rather, he is known merely as the father of his oldest son. Thus, "Damon Carter" means, "Father of Carter." This photo is me and Carter in 1988. Carter graduates from high school next week!
