Barai Mini-Bible Dedication

Well, our email and telephones have been down for a week here in Ukarumpa; but, they are working again at last. Such is life in the mission field. The No Penge SALT team left today. Please pray for the teams safety and a successful course.

June and I helped Bible translator Peter Evans get the Barai Mini-Bibles to the dedication site on July 8th. Praise God for the revision of the Barai New Testament and 7 books of the Old Testament printed together!

SIL planes made 5 trips to take Bibles and people to the dedication. The people were in tears as they hugged the national translators and thanked them for all their hard work.

People bought almost ALL of the Bibles and only 134 copies of the Bibles are left to be distributed!

People reserved their Bibles before they arrived in the village; therefore, during the dedication the Bibles were distributed to family groups and village leaders.

We thank God for the work He has done, and continues to do, in the Barai people group.

Mr. Goodfellow

We are babysitting Valarie Johnson's tree kangaroo while she is in the USA. We think he is from the D. Goodfellowi species, so we call him Mr. Goodfellow. He is native to the tropical rainforest of Papua New Guinea; and he eats primarily tree foliage - leaves, ferns, flowers and vines - although Mr. Goodfellow loves carrots!
